Mary’s early career was as a surgical technologist at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. She then transitioned into a 31 year career as a claims adjuster with Nationwide Insurance where she handled a variety of personal injury cases and earned quite a reputation in the industry for her investigative, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Mary handled the high exposure claims for Nationwide, most notably ones with severe injuries or fatalities. She also attended many mediations and trials as an insurance company representative.
Mary’s vast insurance knowledge is a huge asset to Allen Law Firm clients as she has intimate knowledge of the processes and protocols of insurance companies and their responses and evaluations of personal injury claims. Mary maintains her Florida claims adjuster’s license and also holds an Associate in Claims (AIC) designation. Mary enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends. Her daughter, son-in-law and two grandkids live in Thailand so she and her husband Mike travel at least twice a year for long distance visits.
